The silent piston head is made of duralumin EN AW 6012 T6 on the CNC machining centre. Nine holes are drilled on the front side.The air stream flows through these holes during compression thus expanding the O-ring which provides for better sealing of the space between the piston head and the cylinder.
The silent piston head is equipped with a pneumatic brake. The brake stops the air flow before the piston head hits the cylinder head. Closing the air flow creates an air cushion that ensures a damped impact of the piston head. This will significantly reduce noise and reduce the dynamic shocks transmitted to the gearbox.
Installation of the silent piston head requires expertise in the function of airsoft guns. Especially the AoE (Angle of Engagement) must be set correctly. This means that the AoE must be done with compressed air brake and 0.5..
